(Max Mara Coat, Givenchy Choker and Bag, Balmain Top, Cushnie et Ochs Pants, Alaia Boots)

This look is one of my favorites and really embodies the style I strive for most of the time.  Sometimes I go for a little boho or a retro sixties/seventies look.  I always come back to the nineties though.  There is something about that decade.  I miss it.  Bandeau tops are pieces I keep buying despite the fact that they always slip down on me.  Maybe someone is trying to tell me something.  Either way, I love a bandeau top for certain looks.  A black one is a great basic piece to have in your wardrobe for layering as well as wearing alone.  I paired mine with these amazing silk trousers I snagged during the sales.  These pants have such a great cut.  They are a little long, but I have so many tall heels I can wear with them to make them the perfect length.  I threw on my camel coat to contrast with all the black.  I also wore a choker for the ultimate nineties statement.  The leopard bag is one I have had since 2010.  I thought it was time to take it out for a spin again.  Remember that with designer pieces you really get what you pay for most of the time.  If you take good care of the item it will last you a very long time.

(Jonathan Simkhai Sweater, Frame Denim Leggings, Saint Laurent Bag, Jimmy Choo Pumps)

I don't usually share too many personal details on my blog.  I would like to know if you guys want to hear more about my life.  I really try to stick to fashion and my outfits on this website.  You might have noticed a slight lapse in my posting for the past month.  I had a few health problems and now I am feeling much better.  I missed being able to share my outfits on here for those days.  This ensemble was originally supposed to be a different outfit, but I ran into a bit of a snag.  The dye on these leather leggings rubs off on lighter fabrics.  I have learned to test pieces of clothing by rubbing a paper towel against the fabric.  I am sure most of you have had dye from jeans rub off on a purse before.  It is basically the same thing.

This outfit was originally put together with the intention of wearing a crew neck cashmere sweater with these leggings and throwing on my oversized camel coat along with some leopard print ankle boots and a Chanel quilted purse.  I had to change plans when I saw that the dye came off the leggings and stick to all black everywhere.  I am really happy with the result of this look because I get to show you my star fringe bucket bag.  I snagged this bag on sale before Christmas.  The sweater was an old sale snag and the leggings I also got a deal on as well.  The pumps I've had for at least four years, but they still sell them so they are classics.  The one thing I do have to watch out for with all these studio photo shoots is dog hair.  We have three dogs and none of them are supposed to shed, but the big Labradoodle actually sheds a lot of white hair.  Suede shoes are notorious for collecting Cruiser hairs.  The studio shoots have such good lighting that they show everything so well.  It is so cold and snowy outside that shooting would be pretty painful, especially since I've been sick.  That is why we've been sticking to studio photo shoots.
