I felt like dressing up so I guess that's what I did here. I've been wanting a patent leather skirt for quite some time. I am not sure that this one is the right one. It's a little big in the waist so I might have to trade it for a size down. I guess that's why I took photos of it. I wanted to see how it looked. I think because it is a little bit big it fits a little longer. The good news is that I was able to snag a size smaller and that size is now on its way. That is the one downside to online shopping. You don't get to try it on in a store so you sometimes end up having to order two sizes and have two charges on your credit card for a while. The upside to online shopping is that you can find many pieces you would normally be unable to find in your area. It allows you to be much more selective in your shopping. I paired it with a leather bra top that I am absolutely in love with, a black shearling jacket that is really warm, and my leopard print hiking boots from a few years ago. For jewelry I like to keep things simple, usually wearing only one piece at a time. This gold name necklace is a pretty and dainty addition to the ensemble.
I've been so busy with medical appointments that I haven't had much time to dress up in extravagant outfits like I usually do. I've mastered the art of casual everyday dressing where I still feel like a fashion blogger. Some of you might remember when zippered leggings were really popular back in 2007 and 2008. Well, I took my old zipper leggings and gave them another chance. I snagged this hoodie for under $20 on Amazon and it is super soft. I bought it in a size medium which was perfect to go with the leggings. I then layered my army jacket over the hooded sweatshirt, making sure to leave the hood visible. I added some high top sneakers because I never like it when my ankles get cold. I finished off the ensemble with one of my favorite mini bags. This outfit was composed almost entirely of pieces already in my closet. The hooded sweatshirt was the only new item in this look. We shot these photos in my closet. It isn't quite finished yet. We are waiting on the shutters as well as the actual wood furnishings. I am very excited to show you the finished product. I did move some of my stuff in the room and I am already utilizing the space while I wait.
