Cropped cable knits have also been taking over my closet lately.

Plaid skirts are classic pieces in my opinion and perfect for this time of year. This particular plaid skirt is a wrap skirt and high waisted, making it very flattering. It is best to pair high waisted items like this skirt with cropped sweaters and tops in order to flatter your shape. I paired the skirt with a cropped cable knit sweater in a beautiful cream color. If you are sick of opaque tights try a sheer pair. Quilted patent ankle boots that cut off below the ankle are both flattering and accent the plaid skirt. A quilted bucket style bag with a chain strap completed the ensemble. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.

So I have a very faithful reader named Kate who has been begging me to wear more color. Well, this one's for you Kate! I went into my closet and was thinking of you and found this skirt and I really liked the bright yellow. This skirt had been hanging in my closet for at least a year with the tags still attached and now I don't know why I didn't wear it sooner. I have a few other pieces by Corey Lynn Calter, but this is my first time wearing something made by her on the blog. I think the skirt is perfect for spring because I hear that neons and bright colors like turquoise and yellow are going to be all the rage, and well, if they are not all the rage I will be sure to wear the hell out of them here on Fashion Snag. So thank you Kate! I do listen and read all the comments and I appreciate every one of them. Without Kate I would not have worn this skirt and smiled the whole time I was doing it because bright colors like yellow make me very happy and put an extra spring in my step.
If you didn't notice, the whole outfit happens to be from Gilt Groupe which I find quite amazing. I cannot believe this is the first time I have managed to do it in a post, especially since I bought enough stuff from Gilt to be a member of Gilt Noir. Don't worry, I don't think I get any extra privileges being a member of Gilt Noir so I don't know what the big deal is and I will have to ask Gilt if I am getting anything special anymore. I still couldn't stray completely from my faithful black tights, shoes, and top. Sorry Kate, let's face it, black is slimming, classic, and chic. I do my best though. I found this very basic cashmere sweater with a crewneck by Alisha Levine. This also was an older item that still had the tags and hadn't been worn yet. I really like it now that I wore it because it has extra long sleeves. Who doesn't love extra long sleeves that you can hide your hands and fingers under, especially in this chilly weather. Anyway, sometimes I like a good 'ole crewneck better than a v-neck. I don't like to show all the real estate.
The shoes are the biggest topper in this outfit. I bought them over a year ago during a Gilt final sale. They were the last pair in my size and I was really getting into shoes at the time. I saw they were made in Italy so I thought why not try them out. Well, the poor Be & D quilted ankle boots have been sitting in my closet in their box ever since. However, when I saw this skirt and the houndstooth pattern on it my mind immediately remembered the quilted ankle boots by Be & D that had never seen the light of day. I just thought they were meant to be together. I remember when I first got them I really wasn't that into them, but they did remind me of Chanel due to the quilting. Now when I pulled them out I was really loving them and the architecture and shape bore a striking resemblance to the Alaia braided suede ankle boots I own. I looked up some Be & D shoes on Shopbop before finishing this post and I noticed that they are made in Brazil now.
