I have mentioned this Betsey Johnson bambi dress in numerous posts, but this is the first time I have photographed it.  One of the first trips I went on with my boyfriend was a trip to Las Vegas for my birthday in 2007.  For years I had passed by the Betsey Johnson boutique in various malls and wished I could buy a fancy dress.  Well, on this Las Vegas trip we were seeing the Beatles LOVE show and Celine Dion so I had a great excuse.  We went into the Betsey Johnson boutique in Las Vegas across from the Wynn hotel and bought a couple dresses and some accessories.  This dress is one of the ones I picked out and I still adore it to this day.  I think it came in some different colors, but always the same print.  This color is my favorite and I love the hidden bambi on it.  This dress embodies my style.  I've always felt like I was born in the wrong era and when I put this dress on I can be transported back.  I wore this to the Beatles LOVE show and it worked out perfectly due to the little love clutch.

When we were at the Betsey Johnson boutique the nicest woman helped me pick everything out and her name was Cookie.  I can still remember her to this day and how sweet she was to me.  I saved the receipt from that day and it is still in front of me as I type this.  I wore the dress with different shoes back in 2007, but the same necklace, bracelet, and clutch.  I bought some gold glitter mules that I wore with it back then that were by Betsey Johnson.  I still have the shoes because they are so unique.  This dress is definitely a showstopper and I am thinking of resurrecting it for when I go back to see Celine yet again in Vegas in August.  I will wear it with the Yves Saint Laurent woodstock platforms of course.  When I got these shoes I knew they were made to be with this dress.

Whenever there is an Isabel Lu sale on Gilt Groupe or HauteLook I am the first to check it out.  I really like her skirts and dresses.  I had passed on these scalloped shorts the first time around when I saw them on HauteLook.  They came in black and olive.  I passed on them merely because the fabric was mostly polyester.  Well, a month or so later HauteLook had a blowout sale on Isabel Lu clothing where everything was super cheap.  When there is a blowout sale it is nearly impossible to get anything you actually want into your cart as people can hold items for 15 minutes at a time.  Well, these scallop shorts got marked down to $28! It was a steal and there was something I liked about them the first time and when I saw them again I thought I could definitely take the risk.  Well, I have to say I was wrong.  The shorts are almost shiny and soft and so gorgeous.  It taught me a lesson about judging something merely on the fabric.  I ended up getting both the olive and black color scallop shorts for a mere $56 total.  I love Isabel Lu's designs as they are always so girly and feminine.  Giuliana Rancic was spotted wearing these shorts in olive and she paired them with a sequin jacket.  I will have to try that out next time when I wear the green ones.

I was feeling a church vibe with this outfit when I put on the Betsey Johnson silk chiffon blouse complete with pearl buttons.  My boyfriend laughed at me when I said you could wear this to church because the blouse is so see through.  Maybe I am out of touch?  I was getting a little goofy during this shoot with the poses.  I really love this shirt and it sold out pretty quickly on Gilt Groupe last year.  It is very victorian looking and I love the lace hem detailing.  Betsey Johnson makes some cute stuff once in a while and I still have this gorgeous Bambi dress I have to show you.  I wore my Alejandro Ingelmo black patent pumps for a slimming look with the black opaque tights.  I always want to wear pumps with tights, but sometimes it just isn't practical as the pumps slip due to the tights.

Betsey Johnson Stretch Bow Dress in Black - Snagged off Gilt.com for $98 (Retail: $350)

So I decided to go a little girly for one day with this bow back cutout dress by Betsey Johnson.  Betsey Johnson was one of my first fashion loves.  My boyfriend took me to the Betsey Johnson boutique in Las Vegas and bought me a couple dresses and I was smitten.  One of them is still my favorite dress to this day so I will have to wear it on the blog soon.  It looks like something out of the 1960s complete with Bambi on it.  This black bow dress I bought off of Gilt Groupe and I really like the stretchy sweater-like material.  It isn't itchy and I think it is classic, yet girly at the same time.  It is a basic dress with a sweet edge.

I played it up with some gold accessories including this Jimmy Choo martha oversized clutch.  I like the color of this and it was a gift from my boyfriend for Christmas a couple years ago.  It unzips and can become even bigger, which I tried to hint at in one of the photos.  I don't own a million purses, but when I do want a purse my first stop is usually Jimmy Choo.  I bought my first designer purse at the Jimmy Choo boutique in Chicago where a really lovely woman helped me.  It was easy to decide on the bag beause she was so friendly compared to the people at the other luxury designer stores around.  I will always remember that experience.  My first Jimmy Choo bag was this large saba in white.  I find his bags to be very high quality and they fit in with my bohemian spirit.  Every girl needs a gold clutch in her life and this one fits the bill for me.

For shoes I chose some Fendi pony hair ankle boots with a gold accent in the front to match the purse.  These are definitely at the top of my favorite shoes list for many reasons.  My boyfriend purchased these for me in Aspen at the Fendi boutique.  At the time the sales lady didn't know if the boots would be for sale at Saks or Barneys so we took a chance and snagged them on the spot.  Well, I was sure glad he bought them for me brand new in the dead of summer because I never saw them again anywhere online or in stores.  They must have been exclusive to Fendi boutiques.  I feel like they are really unique and they are black ankle boots, which are my go-to shoes when I am in a hurry.
