We did a little construction and remodeling on our house recently so we headed over to the Denver Design Center to pick out some carpet and some new area rugs. I always love going to the Denver Design Center because there are so many cool pieces to look at and add to your space. For carpet I like something thick and plush with one solid color and preferably wool or a wool blend. I wanted to be comfortable while we were shopping around so I wore one of my North Dakota looks. This is something I might have worn back home in Fargo, North Dakota. I have always loved flare jeans for as long as I can remember. I also used to pair them with platform boots just like I did here except I had some longer ones that I wore under my jeans back in North Dakota. The fringe handbag is one piece that is new to my style since I moved to Colorado. I never had a fringe handbag before in my life. The Rolling Stones tee is typical of something I might have worn back then too thanks to the baseball style sleeves on it and the vintage feel. Since it was so cold back in Fargo I had a steady supply of shearling jackets similar to this one. I have to say that this one, however, is the warmest one I have ever owned.
Rainy days are bound to happen so be prepared with an umbrella from DAVEK! I wore my umbrella with a Burberry trench coat, bodycon skirt, and cropped sweater. Platform pumps and a tassel chain mini bag finished off the look. Shop the entire look below. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
When DAVEK asked me to style one of their umbrellas I was very excited. I chose their flagship solo umbrella in this beautiful black and blue color. It rains pretty often in the summer in Denver, Colorado so I know this umbrella will get a lot of use. DAVEK umbrellas feature an automatic open and close button system which makes them really easy to carry around and use. The handle also fits quite nicely in my hand. The umbrella has the best construction so I am sure it will be quite durable. It is also the perfect size.
Of course I wanted to style it with one of my Burberry trench coats. This one in cotton is perfect for the rainy weather. Can you believe that I snagged this trench coat for 50% off at The Outnet? Check it out here. I always find the best deals on The Outnet. You have to look at their website first thing in the morning to snag the best items. That is when the new arrivals show up. Sometimes I am lucky and get there in time to look around and other times I am a little late and items are picked over. Don't worry if you are late. Try adding the items to your wish list and often times they will pop up again when someone returns them. It happens all the time.
Underneath my trench coat I am wearing a cropped Theory sweater. This sweater has a really fun hemline that you don't get to see in these photos, but next time I wear it I will wear it alone so you can see it. I love the pale blue color because it makes it easy to wear with all my black skirts, leggings, and pants. It is a simple way to add some color in the fall and winter. The alpaca and silk blend is also very soft against your skin. You can find it in black here.
I found the best skirt from Wolford. It is made from merino wool and basically conforms to your body. If you've been reading my blog since the beginning you know I have worn Wolford items before. One of the first Wolford pieces I bought was the Wolford fatal dress, which is basically this amazing tube dress that you can transform into a dress or a skirt. It came in really handy when we were traveling around Europe. This skirt has a similar feel. I think it will hold up pretty well and of course a little black bodycon skirt is a basic piece to have around.
For accessories I chose my Saint Laurent croc tassel bag with silver hardware and a silver chain strap. This bag is great because it is just big enough to fit all the essentials and I think the combination of silver and croc leather really stands out. Check out how I wore the bag with denim shorts in the spring here. On my feet are Saint Laurent platform pointy pumps. These shoes are so comfortable that I also have them in patent leather and suede. I think you have seen all the combinations before on my blog. Check out how I wore the same pumps with white denim in the spring here.
