Prada Leopard Calf Hair Ankle Strap Platform Pumps in Sand/Brown - Snagged off Bluefly.com for $792 (Retail: $990)

Erin Wasson X RVCA Sweetheart Dress in Black - Snagged off Saks.com

Vintage Wrap Cuff Bracelet in Black/Gold - Worn before here with Stone Cold Fox velvet burnout top and TEXTILE jeans, here with Helmut Lang leather and jersey leggings and Lanvin wedges, and here with Kimberly Ovitz sweater and Giuseppe Zanotti leopard ankle strap wedges

When I saw these leopard platform pumps by Prada pop up in the new arrivals section at Bluefly last month I knew I had to have them.  I have another pair of leopard platform pumps without an ankle strap by Prada, but they feature a different type and color of leopard print.  They are my most comfortable pair of pumps by far so I knew that these ankle strap ones would be well worth it.  They are gorgeous and I think the ankle strap adds something a little extra to the look.  I love it when I come across a shoe that is comfortable and sexy at the same time.  The calf hair was in fabulous condition on the shoes as well.  I have never had any problems with Bluefly, but I have heard from other people who won't shop there anymore.

I styled them in a classic way with a little black dress I found while cleaning out my closet.  This dress was strewn on one of my closet shelves way in the back and it still had the tags.  I remember getting it last year at some point from Saks, but the price escapes me.  It has a sweetheart neckline and it is the perfect length if you are looking for a sexy little black dress.  I have a thing for soft stretchy dresses like these and while going through all my clothes I really took notice of how many of these types of dresses I own.  I don't need anymore, but at least little black dresses are classic pieces that don't really go out of style.  I wore a vintage wrap style cuff in black and gold over the sleeve of the dress to add a touch of interest and play off the leopard in the shoes.

Miu Miu Harness Platform Booties in Black - Worn before here with Stone Cold Fox dermis dress

Meet my half plaid/half suede pants I resurrected from my closet.  My boyfriend loved these pants on me and I liked them as well so it makes me sad that they were waiting around in my closet for so long.  They seemed like the perfect match for this oversized, slouchy Alexander Wang cowlneck sweater.  These Miu Miu harness booties are the number one shoe in my closet right now so my other shoes are starting to feel neglected.  If this outfit reminds me of anything it has to be the 90s and that pretty much makes me smile.  Grungy plaid pants should stay "in" at all times in my book or in this case grungy plaid/suede pants.

Abercrombie and Fitch Almost Vintage Brown Belt - Snagged at Abercrombie and Fitch in the West Acres Mall in Fargo, North Dakota

I have had this Erin Wasson Romper for a while, but I was waiting to get a nice tan before I wore it.  Due to all the biking we have been doing, my tan is coming along nicely.  I loved this knit romper from the moment I saw it, but thought it was a little risky to pull off.  The models on the runway wore it baggy, but I prefer it more fitted.  I added an almost vintage Abercrombie and Fitch belt from my days in North Dakota.  This was one of the first leather belts I ever got and back then I only wore it through the loopholes of my Abercrombie jeans.  Now it serves its purpose slung loose and low waisted over this bodysuit.  I still adore the pattern on it as well.  It is great when you get to use something so old and find it works perfectly with a new piece in your closet.

I know the items in this post are more expensive than my usual snags, but I have a new philosophy on my closet.  I am only going to buy the items I really love from now on and try to resist the lower quality items that pop up and tempt me.  This cashmere poncho from Nightcap Clothing had been calling my name, but the almost $800 price tag was enough to scare me away.  Shoes I can justify for $800, but another navajo sweater?  Lucky for me, it went on sale at Shopbop and I pulled the trigger.  It came in a charcoal color as well, but I find the brown shades suit my skin tone.  The Marni sandals were one of my best buys on Gilt Group.  There were only a couple pairs in two different sizes and I snagged one of them.  These are my first pair of Marnis and I have to say that they are very comfortable and I love the stretchy leather bands.  By the time we got around to taking these photos it was way too cool outside to shoot so we went inside.  I hope you like the grainy effect in these shots.  As always, thank you for your endless support on my blog.
