(Citizens of Humanity Denim Jumpsuit, Ariel Gordon Jewelry Necklace, Balenciaga Clutch, Balmain Lace-Up Boots)

I think this is my first time wearing a jumpsuit of this type on the blog.  I actually own a green one too that is a similar style, but I still haven't worn it yet.  I know I've worn fitted jumpsuits before like this one from A.L.C. which you can see here.  This jumpsuit, however, is in an entirely different category.  I would say that this denim jumpsuit and the green one I linked to above fall into the work jumpsuit category.  This one I am wearing is reminiscent of something you might see a painter wearing while the green one looks like something a mechanic might wear.  I am really fond of this style of jumpsuit myself, but I think my boyfriend is a little less enthused.  I feel really comfortable, confident, and sexy in this look.  Sometimes you feel sexiest in the things that cover the most skin.  Your inner confidence can come out then and you sorta glow from within.  It is corny, but I think it is true.

So this Citizens of Humanity denim jumpsuit features super soft denim and it has the tiniest amount of stretch to it.  It is very lightweight and thin so maybe I would classify it as chambray, but you get the picture.  Since it covers so much skin I unbuttoned a few buttons at the top to show some of my neck and feature a longer delicate necklace.  I also cuffed the jumpsuit at the bottom to show off my ankle boots.  I debated about whether to cuff or tuck, but with these boots I ultimately went with the cuffed look.  I also could have left the bottom of the jumpsuit as is, but then the buckles on the boots would have been covered up and I liked seeing that detail on the shoes.  I purchased a size small in this jumpsuit.  I am certain I could have gotten an extra small, but it is all about the fit you are going for.  Certain items look better oversized and others look better fitted.  This jumpsuit looks better when it fits the body in a loose way or is a bit oversized.  That is my opinion anyway.  I am around 5'5 as well so you can get an idea of how this jumpsuit might look on you if you are interested in purchasing it.  I have linked to all the retail sites that carry this exact jumpsuit in the shopping carousel below my writing.

I dressed the jumpsuit up for a night out on the town sorta look.  To dress it up I wore a diamond lariat necklace.  You can see how I wore the necklace last year here with a little white dress in the summer.  Longer necklaces like this one come in handy when you are wearing a piece with a low-cut neckline or you just want to unbutton a few buttons at the top of a blouse or jumpsuit.  I also used a pebbled leather clutch to dress up the jumpsuit.  A clutch is always the best choice for a dinner date.  This one fits just enough stuff in it so I never feel like I am missing out by not having a larger bag.  The gold hardware also dresses it up a bit.  You can see me wearing the same clutch here with jeans and a sweater.

Last, but certainly not least, I am wearing some older shoes from my shoe collection.  Some of you might remember when I snagged these boots on sale in 2011.  You saw them featured here in an edgy look with denim shorts and a Balmain bullet belt.  I've always told you how I really love and use the items I purchase and these boots are no exception.  I still wear many of my older pairs of shoes and I have seen the styles cycle in and out.  I even noticed Kim Kardashian wearing this exact same pair of boots in a photo posted to her Instagram recently.  The green canvas on these boots balances out the chambray of the jumpsuit so well.  I also love to wrap the laces around the ankle of the shoe because they are so long.  It gives the boots a little more personality.  If you can find these boots to purchase on eBay or elsewhere I can tell you that they run about a half size small.  They are really comfortable and I am so happy that I still love them enough to wear and style them with many of my looks this year.

xoxo
