Camilla Skovgaard Ankle Buckle High Heel Sandals in Blue/Black

I was stalking this skirt by Elie Tahari for quite some time waiting for the chance to snag it once it went on sale.  Even though it was hot today I still wanted to wear it because it is so beautiful.  It is my first purchase of anything by Elie Tahari, but it will definitely not be my last.  The vibrant gold color of this skirt is what caught my eye and it looks even better than what I expected from the retail photos.  I don't have anything like this skirt in my closet, which makes it even sweeter.  The hemline is a little big longer than what I usually wear, but I can get used to it.  I felt very ladylike in this outfit overall.  The skirt is made mostly of silk and a little bit of metallic.

I like pairing gold with minty green and other contrasting colors.  I almost wore a white silk camisole, but decided I wanted to be daring since this is the debut of the skirt.  Next time I will pair it with something white I think.  I purposely bought this top on Gilt Groupe before buying the skirt because I knew I would one day own the skirt and I thought they would be the perfect match.  Gilt Groupe had a new designer/brand on board called Hunter Dixon so I took a look and the first piece that caught my eye was this mint colored blouse.  It is made in the USA and 100% silk.  It came in a yellow and a pink color as well, but I think the mint was the best color for the top.  I like the big buttons and the fact that I can roll up the sleeves and they actually stay put thanks to the design of the shirt.  I have a mint silk dress I wore last summer by Isabel Lu and the color is really similar to the color of this Hunter Dixon top.  For shoes I wore my Camilla Skovgaard gladiator sandals that I bought over 2 years ago.  They are a metallic black color and very comfortable.  Halle Berry and a slew of other celebrities wore these heels when they first came out.  I still love them today as much as I did back then.
