Whenever there is an Isabel Lu sale on Gilt Groupe or HauteLook I am the first to check it out.  I really like her skirts and dresses.  I had passed on these scalloped shorts the first time around when I saw them on HauteLook.  They came in black and olive.  I passed on them merely because the fabric was mostly polyester.  Well, a month or so later HauteLook had a blowout sale on Isabel Lu clothing where everything was super cheap.  When there is a blowout sale it is nearly impossible to get anything you actually want into your cart as people can hold items for 15 minutes at a time.  Well, these scallop shorts got marked down to $28! It was a steal and there was something I liked about them the first time and when I saw them again I thought I could definitely take the risk.  Well, I have to say I was wrong.  The shorts are almost shiny and soft and so gorgeous.  It taught me a lesson about judging something merely on the fabric.  I ended up getting both the olive and black color scallop shorts for a mere $56 total.  I love Isabel Lu's designs as they are always so girly and feminine.  Giuliana Rancic was spotted wearing these shorts in olive and she paired them with a sequin jacket.  I will have to try that out next time when I wear the green ones.

I was feeling a church vibe with this outfit when I put on the Betsey Johnson silk chiffon blouse complete with pearl buttons.  My boyfriend laughed at me when I said you could wear this to church because the blouse is so see through.  Maybe I am out of touch?  I was getting a little goofy during this shoot with the poses.  I really love this shirt and it sold out pretty quickly on Gilt Groupe last year.  It is very victorian looking and I love the lace hem detailing.  Betsey Johnson makes some cute stuff once in a while and I still have this gorgeous Bambi dress I have to show you.  I wore my Alejandro Ingelmo black patent pumps for a slimming look with the black opaque tights.  I always want to wear pumps with tights, but sometimes it just isn't practical as the pumps slip due to the tights.

Giuseppe Zanotti Leather Peep-Toe Zipper Bootie in Black - Snagged off ForwardForward.com for $275 (Retail: $675) and worn before here with Gucci belt and Alexander Wang dress

Welcome to 2011 everyone! Last night the boyfriend and I had a delicious spaghetti meal complete with spicy hot peppers and olive oil bread.  We celebrated with champagne.  A cold spell complete with snow has finally struck Denver so we didn't really feel like going outWe also watched The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock.  I really enjoyed that movie and found it very inspiring.  I hope all of you had a great celebration last night either at home or out on the town and you are safe and happy.

For my outfit I wore a cozy Elizabeth and James chunky cropped hoodie complete with a zipper running down the hood so you can also make it into an oversized collar.  I love this sweater, but sometimes it is hard to wear because it is so cropped.  I guess I have had a thing for layering cropped sweaters over tanks for as long as I can remember.  I layered this sweater over a beautiful Isabel Lu silk pocket tank.  This tank has an asymmetrical hemline and I tucked the shorter side into my shorts and left the longer side hanging out.  It has a little pintucking on the longer side as well, which I find really cute.  I find that by leaving things half-tucked you can really change up the look of your outfit.

My lovely boyfriend bought me these gorgeous 3.1 Phillip Lim fringed shorts.  It really is hard to tell what they look like from an online photo.  They are very heavy and the fringe moves as you walk.  I am absolutely in love with them and they are great quality.  I noticed 2010 was the year where I acquired the most shorts in my wardrobe, possibly due to the fact that you can wear them into fall/winter with tights.  For shoes I wore my Giuseppe Zanotti tulip vamp ankle boots.  These are beautiful shoes and the tulip vamping makes them very flattering on the legs.

On the giveaway front, I have chosen a winner and contacted her via e-mail, but I have yet to hear back from her.  I will give her another 48 hours and if I do not hear back I will have to choose someone else as the winner of the Society for Rational Dress leather skirt.  Either way, the winner of the giveaway will be anounced as soon I hear back from her.  Please stay tuned for another giveaway in the near future featuring a piece of jewelry!

Autumn Cashmere Drape Flower Sweater Vest in Bleach White - Snagged off HauteLook.com for $94 (Retail: $187)

Chanel Classic Sunglasses in Brown - Gift from Boyfriend

Vintage Mesh Stone Buckle Bracelet in Gold - Snagged off eBay.com for $10

This look is really different from my last two posts, isn't it?  I can't make up my mind on any one style and I waver between edgy bad girl and feminine uptown girl.  These Fendi mary janes are supposed to look like wood and the heel is triangular.  I like them because they are so different and they are extremely girly.  I snagged this Isabel Lu dress off of Gilt because I cannot resist this seafoam color.  It is perfect for summer and of course I am holding onto summer for as long as I possibly can before fall is inevitable.  I saw this Autumn Cashmere knit flower vest on Revolve, but I did not want to pay full price so I was happy to see it pop up on Hautelook for a lot less.  I love the flower detailing on the back of it and you can throw it on over almost anything.  The only thing that bothers me about both leather and sweater vests is the fact that they are sleeveless, yet warm.  This makes them impossible to wear in the heat due to the material and impossible to wear in the cold due to the missing sleeves.  Maybe they are perfect for fall or just for layering purposes.  It seems contradictory, yet I keep accumulating more of these creations.  I finished off the look with the first pair of Chanel sunglasses my boyfriend ever bought me and a vintage buckle bracelet.  Last summer I had a weird obsession with buckle bracelets and eBay.  Thankfully that is over! I have been helping my nephew all morning with a personal narrative he has due today and it makes me wonder why I never went into teaching.
