(Rag & Bone Cape, Jenni Kayne Top, Rag & Bone/JEAN Leather Pants, Saint Laurent Boots)

This outfit is perfect for Colorado.  It has a mix of classic, western, and edgy elements.  A camel cape is a classic item to have in your closet.  This one is really soft and made in Italy.  It is reversible, but I prefer the camel side.  It also comes in black, but I think the camel is more beautiful.  The fringe on the cape gives it a western feel.  I paired the camel cape with navy and white stripes.  That is always a good combination in my book.  This long sleeve tee is something you will use over and over again.  It is also very soft against your skin.  I pay attention to fabrics more closely than ever and if the piece isn't soft I won't buy it.  The leather pants are like jeans, but in leather so you stay very warm.  I have had them since 2011 and they have held up so well.  They still sell these pants in black and in other colors.  The leather jeans add that edgy, modern touch I was going for.  I also slipped on my favorite western style boots.  I snagged these boots last year and they are so comfortable despite the skinny heel.

We snapped these photos after a delicious lunch in Cherry Creek at True Food Kitchen.  I always enjoy getting the shaved turkey sandwich there.  It is so good.  We spent the weekend walking our dogs and taking in the beautiful weather here in Denver.  The snow is finally starting to melt and the bird feeder is really busy.  I took my scooter out for a joy ride with the dog as well so we could visit some horses down the street.  I also made some delicious pumpkin chocolate chip bars from a mix I found at Trader Joe's.  We ate half the pan on the first day so don't say I didn't warn you.

My outfit is definitely influenced by the seventies.  All I can think about is suede, flares, and fringe.  I snagged this leather braided belt during the Shopbop sale and I am pairing it with all my high waisted flare jeans.  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I am off to take a bubble bath and finish off the Charlie's Angels series on DVD.
