(IRO Leather Jacket, Rag & Bone/JEAN Top, Level 99 Jeans, Converse Sneakers, Hue Socks)

I have been traveling a lot lately and on a recent trip to Chicago I decided to document my travel look.  When traveling I like to be comfortable and that is my only concern.  I also don't like to wear lighter colors too much as the airports and planes are not that clean.  I will usually stick to an all black look, especially in the fall and winter.  We stayed at the Trump Hotel in Chicago and snapped these photos in the bathroom of our suite as soon as we got there.  The hotel had amazing views and it had everything we needed for our stay.

I don't check any of my luggage as I have had problems in the past.  Sometimes they will go through your luggage and mess everything up and you always have to worry about your luggage getting lost or something being stolen.  I like to have everything with me and on me at all times.  I travel with a Tumi carry-on and a Pendleton weekender bag and with these two pieces I can fit everything I need for a three to four day trip.  If the trip does go on longer I have to think about checking my luggage.  However, my Tumi carry-on is expandable and sometimes we can get away with making it bigger to fit more items depending on the plane we are traveling on and the storage situation in the overhead bins.  I have been lucky so far.

I will usually wear my most comfortable pair of jeans that somewhat feel like leggings with a lot of stretch.  These high-rise jeans from Level 99 have just the right fabric blend and they conform to my curves.  I am always comfortable in these jeans and they are my first pick for travel.  I find low-rise jeans to be uncomfortable for traveling and sitting for long periods for obvious reasons.  On top I am wearing a basic 100% cotton long sleeve top from Rag & Bone.  I invest in a lot of luxury basics similar to this long sleeve tee.  By that I mean I will spend a lot on a T-shirt.  This one is around $85, but I love it because it is soft and comfortable.  I also think it wears well and is good for layering.  I have this top in white as well.  You can never have too many long sleeve and short sleeve T-shirts in black and white colors.  You will always find a time when you need them.

For shoes I went with my Converse low-top sneakers and some Hue socks.  Hue makes the softest and most comfortable socks.  Falke is another great brand for socks, but I prefer Hue with my Converse sneakers.  I take black sneakers because they go with everything.  I don't like to wear sneakers that look like running shoes because I still want to feel somewhat stylish in my basic outfit.  I also use these shoes on and off with other outfits when I travel or I am walking throughout the city I am visiting.  If it is raining I like to have a pair of shoes such as these sneakers that I don't have to worry about getting wet.

I was wearing my oversized Rag & Bone peacoat that you last saw here on the plane.  However, when it got close to landing time I switched to this IRO leather motorcycle jacket to look a bit sleeker for the hotel arrival.  I wore my peacoat with all my other looks during the trip however since it was quite cold most days.  It is always best to wear your biggest and bulkiest items on the plane so that is why I was wearing the peacoat.  It is often cold as well and I ended up wearing the peacoat again on the flight back into Denver.  Stay tuned for more of my outfits during my stay in Chicago.  I already miss that friendly and beautiful city.

xoxo
