(MICHAEL Michael Kors Leopard Coat (60% OFF), Diane von Furstenberg Sweater, Dior Earrings, Citizens of Humanity Jeans, UGG Boots)

We definitely had a white Christmas and a few days later I am still taking advantage of that white powder.  We finally took some outdoor photos now that we have more free time.  It felt really good to shoot outside again.  My snow day look was perfect and kept me very warm.  I played some ball with our Labradoodle Cruiser.  Be sure to check him out in the upcoming video post.  He makes a special appearance.  Now let's talk about my outfit details.  This look is a pretty simple look that you could put together with similar pieces from your own closet.  As always, if you fall in love with anything I am wearing be sure to shop the photo carousel below my writing to see all the shopping options for the pieces you see in the photos.  I also include text links to the items underneath the last photo.  In the case that the item is unavailable I will link to a very similar piece.  For instance, the pearl earrings I added to this outfit really gave it a classy touch.  The earrings are by Dior and you have seen me wearing them many times before.  They are not available online, but I found cheaper alternatives here ($18!), here, and here.

The pearls were the fnishing touch on this look.  The ensemble was inspired by my new leopard print coat I snagged for almost 60% off.  This MICHAEL Michael Kors leopard coat is still available in many sizes so definitely check it out.  It kept me very warm in the snow and I love how the coat can amp up any outfit.  It really is a statement coat.  That is why I kept the rest of the look relatively simple.

I started with a black base for a leg elongating effect.  Even though it is cold and snowy I still want to look my best and feel chic.  I threw on my Citizens of Humanity skinny jeans.  You last saw me wearing them in this post with Alaia boots and an A.L.C. leather jacket.  These are my favorite pair of low-rise black skinny jeans by far.  They never lose their shape and they are comfortable.  I feel like I could go for a run in these skinny jeans and I never have to tug or pull while getting them on.  For the rest of the black base I wore my tall UGG boots in black.  These boots are so warm and comfortable.  I find that they can look quite stylish for snow boots if you pair them with black leggings or black skinny jeans.  I wore some knit UGG boots way back when I first started my blog in 2009.  UGG Australia makes the best snow boots in my opinion.  I did try Sorel boots, but they weren't nearly as comfortable for me (or warm) so I returned them.  I believe that you can make anything look good or bad depending on how you style it.  I like the shorter UGG boots as well, but the tall ones are nice because you can go in deep snow without getting snow in your boots.

I kept the look classy with a Diane von Furstenberg cashmere turtleneck sweater in a gray color.  I snagged this sweater on sale and it also comes in many other colors.  I would have paid full price for it, but it was really hard to find in my size.  Believe it or not, this sweater drapes perfectly and the cashmere is so soft and thin that it really is the perfect sweater.  It was selling out like crazy and then my size just happened to pop up during a sale so I snagged it right away.  It is worth every penny and now I am looking at the navy one and wondering if I should get that color as well.  It is a great sweater to layer under bulky coats because it is thin yet warm.

We headed over to the Cherry Creek mall to snap some photos on a rare shopping trip.  I am not that fond of the mall, especially around Christmas time.  He snapped a photo in front of the Louis Vuitton store, but soon a security guard told us we couldn't take photos in front of the store fronts in the mall. Okaaaaaaaay?  Then we headed over to Saks and I made a beeline for the 40% off shoe display and found these wonderful Gucci peep toe boots.  The leather fits like a glove around your feet.  My boyfriend bought them for me and they made up for the weird security guard.  Then we decided to have a sushi lunch at a nice restaurant inside the mall.  Afterward, I picked up my favorite lip conditioner at MAC.  The guy working there wouldn't let us take a photo in front of the display because he claimed people sell the photos online.  It was one strange photo taking day!  After that, we picked up some SmartWool socks at Nordstrom and split.  SmartWool socks from the men's section are the best socks I have ever had.  I love them.

We ventured over to North Cherry Creek and checked out Crate & Barrel.  We love to cook and picked up some more accessories for our kitchen and then took some photos outside with a friendly dog.  I love how he is looking wherever I am looking in the photos.  So cute.  I then gazed into the Betsey Johnson store for a little while.  Betsey Johnson was my first love when it came to designer things.  I fell for all the cute dresses, but soon got burned out because it seemed like the dresses didn't really change all that much from season to season.  I still love a little Betsey in my life though.

For this outfit I wanted to make the fringe skirt a little less dressy so instead of tucking in a top like I would normally do, I decided to just leave this turtleneck sweater untucked and let the fringe peek out underneath.  I wanted to toughen up the look so I added my Fendi studded ankle boots, which are outrageously comfortable thanks to the platform.  I carried this Zac Posen bag that has such a cute bow on it and a longer strap to use if desired.  I needed a long necklace to top off the look so I decided to finally wear my Chanel necklace from Barcelona.  To top it all off I pulled out my trusty Jessica Simpson peacoat.  I love the stitching on the back of it.  I switched to my Ugg Cardy boots near the end of our excursion to combat the snowy streets.  I rolled them down which I think makes them look cuter.  Essentially, I wore three shoes in one day.  A three in one post =)

Happy New Year!
