Erin from Otrera was kind enough to send me this beautiful hand sewn silk chiffon scarf.  It has such fine detailing including Hamsa charms with glass eyes.  I styled it in a sarong fashion and I like the pop of color it added to my outfit.  These Elizabeth and James shorts were the perfect backdrop to show off the vibrant pink scarf.  You could really dress up any pair of shorts by adding a large enough scarf and tying it around your waist as an accent.  Otrera was the first company I accepted a gift from because I really thought their scarves were high quality and fit in with my usual style.  I tied up this chambray shirt because it was 90 degrees out and I wanted to stay in theme with the scarf tie.

I took a little hiatus from blogging to spend time with my family who visited from North Dakota.  I went tubing in a creek with my 15 year old nephew, which was quite the treacherous experience.  We also found a swing along the creek that someone had made and tied to a willow tree.  It was nice to dip my toes in the water while swinging.  My boyfriend and I took my family up to Boulder to see some sights and we ate many dinners together.  I cannot remember how many pots of coffee we all went through.

I am a tomboy at heart so being in a murky creek where swimming is prohibited is right up my alley.  Fashion is only a small slice of my life and I like to share it with others online because it is difficult to find people in Denver who share my love of fashion.  Most of the time you can find me in my Nike shorts and an old ripped up t-shirt I stole from my boyfriend.  I also own a lot of sneakers, just like Jerry from Seinfeld.  I played so much tennis this past week that my arms and back are sore, but I loved it.  We also biked some 20 milers after my family left a few days ago.  Today is my birthday, but I don't like to make a big deal about it.

Thank you for all the e-mails and messages regarding my absence.  I did not know I would be so missed, but I appreciate your concern.

Oliver Peoples Coquette Tortoiseshell Sunglasses - Gift from Boyfriend

Besides the knit Erin Wasson X RVCA romper I snagged a couple posts ago, I also managed to grab these knit M Missoni Hot Pants that had been on my Shopbop wish list for way too long.  As soon as they got marked down to 30% off I snagged them and I had to resist getting them in the black color as well.  Something new always comes along so no need for doubles on the knitwear, right?  Their made in Italy label more than exceeded my expectations and might even extend my love for Italian goods beyond footwear.  They are beautiful, thick, and well made shorts.  They are also very short, but it was 97 degrees when these photos were taken so it was all explainable.  I wanted to keep the attention on the shorts so I pulled out one of my sheer KAIN Label pocket tanks and haphazardly tucked it into the knit shorts.  I am on a roll with the Cynthia Vincent footwear, all of which I acquired on Gilt Group.  Gilt is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.  These wedges have been seen on many celebs including Vanessa Hudgens and Kristin Cavallari.  I like that they just have one easy zipper down the center and I don't have to mess around with the buckles.  This is one of my favorite gold bangles by DANNIJO.  I have some strange addiction to anything mesh and must watch myself because I will buy the same item in different form over and over.  These earrings have been around the world.  I take them on every Caribbean vacation we go on and they always seem to fill the status quo for each island-y dress I wear.  In other news, I think the pizza place we used to order from is going to go out of business because we are now making homemade tomato pesto pizzas and loving every minute of it.

I've been mountain biking, walking my dogs, and enjoying the beautiful Denver weather for the past week.  Oh, I have also been shamelessly indulging in all the lovely shoe sales going on at the moment.  Summer really is my favorite time of year.  I had to try out this whole leopard print tight trend so I bought these tights about a month ago from ASOS.  I wanted to do something quirky and different with them so I pulled out my Cynthia Vincent Iris Wedges I snagged off Gilt Group last summer.  They have beautiful rope lace up detailing that really contrasted with the tights.  It was so dark when we took these photos, which made the leopard print tights stand out even more.  I snagged this Haute Hippie shirt off Shopbop for 70% off.  I like the pleated bib ruffle look of it, but what really sold me was the sheerness factor.  This skirt from Free People is a nice basic to have around when you are searching aimlessly for some bottoms.  It goes with pretty much everything.  I rocked the side ponytail for one more post.  It reminds me of when I dressed up as a punk rocker in the 6th grade.  Expect another post soon =)
