Elkin Two Piece Z Dress in Peony - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $245 Retail

A babydoll dress is best paired with some chunky mary jane pumps, right?  Someone was requesting that I wear my Miu Miu sparrow print pumps again soon and wondering why I don't wear them very often.  Well, I love these shoes and they are satin so I try to be pretty careful with them.  It has been raining nonstop in Denver and I think today is the first day we have gotten any sunshine in a week.  I don't know why Miu Miu didn't produce more of the daisy and sparrow print platforms from last spring, but I am happy that I snagged a pair when they first came out.  They are super comfy like most of my other Miu Miu shoes with platforms. 

I paired them with this beautiful silk dress in a peony color.  I think I just like saying the word peony.  Anyway, this dress is by a new line called Elkin that was featured on Shopbop a couple weeks back.  Right away, I realized the line was totally me and I had to purchase a few pieces to try them out.  Everything is made in the USA and most of the items are silk.  The best part is that for each piece you buy they donate a book to a child in Kenya.  This dress in particular is the perfect length and it has two parts to it.  The longer sleeved sheer silk part underneath is one piece.  The sleeveless dress part is another piece so essentialy I could make this dress sleeveless for a really hot day.  You can't beat that.  A lot of the items by Elkin sold out in the desirable sizes within hours, but sometimes I see something pop up again on the Shopbop website.  Stay tuned to see my other Elkin pieces.  This dress will replace the dozens I got rid of in my closet clean.  I also like the navy blue satin against the peony silk.  My boyfriend said the dress was the perfect color because it matches my skin tone.
