I styled a classic fall look using a beautiful plaid coat from Joules and a tote bag from Tarzia Khan. This outfit features a navy blue and black color combination that you should not be afraid to try out. It has a classic, yet preppy vibe. Shop the entire look below. This outfit was inspired by this gorgeous plaid jacket I received from Joules. Isn't it beautiful? It features checks and quilting with corduroy trim as well as corduroy elbow patches. Also, the little button at the top is so adorable. I ended up styling the entire look around the Joules jacket. I am wearing a US size 4 in this jacket if you are interested in purchasing. Since it has a preppy yet classic vibe I went for a riding style look.
Right away I knew I wanted to wear a classic turtleneck underneath the jacket so I found one of my old favorites from Autumn Cashmere. This turtleneck is black, ribbed, and 100% cashmere. It also has a longer body, which I love in a long sleeve top. You can see me wearing it a few years ago here with a cheetah skirt, leather blazer, and Alexander Wang boots. You can find a close match to this sweater here.
On my legs are skinny ponte pants I snagged a long time ago off Gilt Groupe for a steal. These pants have such a perfect fit and they are made in the USA. They are a deep navy blue color and the fabric has a nice weight to it. I feel like I never wear pants and maybe I should start wearing them more, especially the ponte style. They are almost like leggings, but they definitely have a thicker material to avoid any sheerness. I love combining navy and black colors in an ensemble. I found a similar pair of ponte pants here.
On my feet are some amazing Prada leather knee high boots I picked up in Chicago while exploring. These boots are classic and I felt like I didn't have a pair quite like these. I have a lot of suede knee high boots, but I don't think I have leather ones. I could be wrong. These are high quality and very lightweight. They are also super comfortable for long periods of walking. I could not find them online anywhere, but I did find a similar pair that Prada makes here.
Last, but certainly not least, I wore this beautiful tote bag by Tarzia Khan. All her handbags are made in the USA and the styles range from classic to boho. This bag is a tote bag that I find to have a classic shape. The tan color with the beige stripe contrasted well with all the darker colors in my outfit. I also love that the sides of the bag feature a suede gold leopard print. The mix of leather and suede in the bag makes it interesting. As you can see, this bag is very versatile and could go with so many different ensembles. The possibilities are endless. I used the bag here to provide a nice contrast and I also ended up doing a little print mixing due to the plaid in the jacket and the leopard print on the bag.
These photos were taken after round two of my interview process. I sorta like my interview looks as they are a nice change from my usual style. I feel a bit more preppy in this one. My niece told me these blazers would come in handy when she was helping me clean my closet and boy was she right. She is pretty smart for a 14 year old.
